Kim Jong Un

U.S. President Donald Trump has canceled high talk with North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un, accusing the North Korean leader of "tremendous anger and open hostility." The U.S. President canceled talks on Thursday, accompanying the cancellation with a letter.

The peace talk between the duo was set up for June 12 at Singapore, and there have been preparation for these talks between the two parties involved.

In a letter released online and released on the internet, the U.S. President praised the NK leader for releasing the recent three Americans in his custody, but wrote the meeting will not hold, he wrote  "Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting."

Trump also reminds Kim about the U.S. nuclear abilities, and wrote; "You talk about your nuclear capabilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I pray to God they will never have to be used"

The South Korean government had performed a major role to set up the meeting between the U.S. and North Korea, and were caught by surprise at the news from the Trump's government.

The news was received in just before midnight in Seoul, and an emergency meeting was called by the Moon Jae-In administration, and released a statement after, writing;

It is very regretful and disconcerting that the US-NK summit will not happen as planned. Denuclearization and the lasting peace on the Korean peninsula cannot be abandoned or delayed as they are the historical assignment. The sincerity of the affected parties who have been working to resolve the problem has not changed. It is hard to resolve sensitive and difficult diplomatic issues with the current way of communications. (We) hope that the leaders resolve problems through direct and close dialogue.

The latest development was a surprise as North Korea was seen dismantling some of its nuclear test site. North Korea had cancelled a major talk with South Korea out of anger, after a joint military drill in the Korean peninsula.

Recently, North Korea had lashed out at the U.S. Vice-president, Mike Pence after he said that the North Korea government might end up like Gaddafi Libya government.

A top North Korean official, Choe Son Hui, responding to Pence's remarks said; "As a person involved in U.S. affairs, I cannot suppress my surprise at such ignorant and stupid remarks gushing from the mouth of the U.S. vice president"

Kim Jong-Un is worried he would lose his grip on power if he goes on to meet U.S. President Donald Trump on June 12 in Singapore.

The North Korea leader is worried about what will happen in Pyongyang when he goes on to meet Donald Trump, he is worried about a military coup or hostile actors that would want to take power from the Kim's power house who had ruled the country since 1953.

In recent times, the leader has shuffled his power Politburo, and while some of the military head had disappeared, some are sent to the country's “re-revolutionisation education.”

One example of the NK Purge is General Hwang Pyong-so, who had been one of the top brass in the North Korean government, and had recently disappeared from the public since October. Three other officers often seen with Kim had also disappeared or sent to the re-education camp at the North Korea prison.

Victor Cha, a director for Asian affairs for the National Security Council in his opinion column in 2014 during George W. Bush wrote;

The notion that Kim is secure in his power is fundamentally wrong. Dictators may exercise extreme and draconian power like Kim, but they are also pathologically insecure about their grip on the throne. All of the public speculation about coups or interim leaders would feed the paranoid impulse of a dictator to correct that perception as quickly as possible, even if it were misplaced.

North Korea had recently sent a hard tone to South Korea by not attending a meeting that is supposed to lead up to the June 12 meeting after the South Korea and U.S. Joint training on the North Korea border, a training Nk had expected to stop after the recent meetings between Kim Jong-Un and the South Korean president, Moon Jae-In.

The meeting between the President Trump and Kim Jon-Un is a little sceptical right now as both sides watch carefully on the next move to the meetup.

In a  historic move today, the leader of North and South Korea have declared the end to the Korean war, and also a "complete denuclearization" of the Korean peninsula.

Kim Jong Un of North Korea, and Moon Jae-In of South Korea have said that the two countries will now cease all hostile acts, and will work towards transforming the "Demilitarized Zone into a peace zone."

Moon Jae-In had campaigned on talking with the North Korean leaders to stop the nuclear test when elected, and he had told the North Korea leader he will be visiting the country this fall. The two leaders briefly crossed into each other country. Kim took Moon by hands, and invited him briefly into North Korea.

Kim Jong Un then told Moon when both men sat down at the South Korea area border truce village of Panmunjom. He said; "We have a chance to heal the wounds." He then went on to sign a ceremonial book that said, "A new history begins now."

In a funny attempt to break the ice, Kim told Moon  “I was told that you used to be unable to get a good night’s sleep, being awakened … to attend the National Security Council meetings because of us.I’ll make sure that you can sleep soundly.”

Kim and the US President have a meeting slated for next month to further the peace talk, and complete denuclearization of North Korea.

North Korea has said it will stop testing nuclear missiles. The latest move has surprised experts, but many believed this was done in preparation of the meeting between North Korea and the White House.

A recent study by group of geologists have shown that the sudden compromise by Kim Jong-Un might just be because the nuclear test site have collasped due to many explosions, and there are concerns about the collapse, as radioactive materials could make its way to China soon.

Geologists in China said that the mount Muntap collaspses might be because the country tested a nuclear warhead last fall. The detonation was done at around 2,300 feet beneath the mountain peak, causing aftershock earthquakes.

The bomb is reported to have vaporized the surrounding rock, and blew a hole in the side of the mountain.

According to the United States Geological Survey, when the bomb was detonated, there was a 6.3 earthquake,followed by another 4.6 magnitude earthquake.

The collapse of the test site could be a reason for the halting of nuclear missile test by North Korea, whether the regime will build a new one is unknown.

Emergency alert sent to phones of residents in Hawaii caused a panic. The emergency alert was sent in all caps "Ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii. Seek immediate shelter. This is not a drill."

Hawaii Emergency Management Agency spokesman Richard Repoza has now debunked the claim, and said that it is a false alarm, and the agency is looking into what happened. Hawaii has been preparing for the worst case scenario since North Korea armed itself with missiles, though unlikely that the country would ever use it.

The Hawaii Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA) said that if any missile is approaching Hawaii, it would take 20 minutes, and the military will take 5mins to see if the threat is real or not.

According to Toby Clairmont, HI-EMA executive officer, told NBC4 sister station KHON, he said;

We’re going to trigger the siren system, the second siren sound. We’re going to send messages out on radio and TV, so if you’re listening to a radio or TV station, you’re going to see this. If you have a smart phone, a text is going to come out with a big banner in front of it. It’ll make a strange sound and tell you something is happening. All that will happen within the first few minutes.

Hawaii residents could be asked to keep shelters for two weeks if such happens, which means they have to keep emergency supplies of 14 days.

North Korea once again is not backing out on its development of its missile test, after the country tested its sixth and most powerful nuclear test on early Sunday. The country has also called the latest test a "perfect success" of unprecedented "strength"

The US Geological Survey recorded a 6.3 magnitude earthquake at a depth of 0.0 km, and indicator that Kim Jong Un military might have conducted a nuclear test.

The bomb that was tested by the North is more powerful than the bombs the US drops on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, and the impact of the test was felt both in the North and South Korea. The Hydrogen bombs tested are more powerful than atomic bombs, and even though analysts have been sceptical of the claims by North Korea of having a hydrogen bomb, the blast that was heard today was more powerful than anything the North had previously detonated.

Speaking after the missile test, Donald Trump took to his Twitter account to respond, writing;

South Korea President Moon Jae-in during the campaign has said he is looking to talk North Korea instead of going to war with its neighbours as much of the South Korea population is within the range of North Korea artillery.

And also responding to Trump's comment on "appeasement," President Moon Jae-In office said that it is working with Washington to exert “maximum sanctions and pressure.” And also make its stance known that the reason for the sanctions is only to bring North Korea to the negotiating table again.

The tremor received in South Korea resulted in the South’s National Fire Agency, which operates an emergency hotline, that it received around 31 phone calls from people that reported about ground and building shakings.

World leaders have condemned the latest missile test by North Korea. The Russian Foreign Ministry in Europe said that the rogue state "deserves absolute condemnation." The office of the German chancellor, Angela Merkel and President Emmanuel Macron of France both released a statement that said "the most recent provocation from Pyongyang reaches a new dimension."

Otto Frederick Warmbier released from North Korea prison is dead. The 22 year old arrived from North Korea in a coma. He was arrested for stealing a propaganda poster from his hotel, and sentenced to 15 years of hard labour in the North Korea prison.

The family of Otto appreciated the staff of the hospital for the care they provided for Otto;

The awful torturous mistreatment our son received at the hands of the North Koreans ensured that no other outcome was possible beyond the sad one we experienced today.

It would be easy at a moment like this to focus on all that we lost – future time that won’t be spent with a warm, engaging, brilliant young man whose curiosity and enthusiasm for life knew no bounds.

But we choose to focus on the time we were given to be with this remarkable person. You can tell from the outpouring of emotion from the communities that he touched – Wyoming, Ohio and the University of Virginia to name just two – that the love for Otto went well beyond his immediate family.

North Korea claimed that the American had botulism, and never woke up after taking a sleeping pill, but doctors in Cincinnati claimed that this not true, and Otto has shown no sign of botulism since in arriving in the US, but he had suffered severe neurological injury, and he is in a state of unresponsiveness wakefulness.

North Korea is not happy with the comment of Israel defense minister, Avigdor Liberman, during his interview with Hebrew news site Walla. Avigdor said in the interview that the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un is a madman, and also said this is together with the leaders of Iran and Syria, he labelled them “insane and radical” gang that are trying to destroy the international stability.

The state run North Korea, Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) responded to the minister's remarks in a statement that reads;

The reckless remarks of the Israeli defense minister are sordid and wicked behavior and grave challenge to the DPRK [North Korea].

This is the cynical ploy to escape the world denunciation and curse as disturber of peace in the Middle East, occupier of the Arab territories and culprit of crimes against humanity.

The statement also defends the country access to Nuclear power saying that the access is "righteous right for self-defense to cope with the US provocative moves for aggression," the statement then went on and threatened Israel or any other country who "dares hurt the dignity of its supreme leadership," with "merciless, thousand-fold punishment."

The letter then ended with a warning to Israel to "think twice about the consequences to be entailed by its smear campaign against the DPRK [North Korea] to cover up the crimes of occupying Arab territories and disturbing peace process in the Middle East."

The North Korea elites are not confident in Kim Jong-Un regime any longer, and has labelled the dictator a weak leader. According to a research published on Thursday by Rand Corp. citing senior officials who have defected from North Korea.

Bruce Bennett, senior defense analyst at research organization Rand said;

Kim Jong Un appears increasingly to the elites as ineffective and not a particularly good leader, which is likely how he's viewed now. Other than North Korea's weapons and [the] ballistic missiles of this regime, Kim Jong Un doesn't really have a lot to make him feel empowered.

North Korea's elites have heavily gone into being entrepreneurs, They would look to set up an economy like the Chinese which is what the Chinese have been asking them to do

The elites have also said that they would not be allowing anybody from the Kim dynasty once Kim dies. A move that will end the dominance of the Kim's since the state was founded more than half a century ago.

A new report has emerged that reveal that North Korean leader, Kim Jong-Un has trained elite squads that will penetrate South Korea, and kidnap westerners/expats to North Korea. The victims, according to the report will be held as hostage in the event it goes to war with the US.

In an interview with a North Korea defector, Ung-gil Lee, who served in one of the units that is poised to kidnap westerners in South Korea, the unit is tasked to take the victims up North if possible, if that is not possible, they will be held hostage inside South Korea.

The agents from North Korea will be armed with deadly nerve agents, and will kidnap tourists, foreign businessmen, and diplomats.

North Korea have a history of kidnapping foreigners in the past, and one of those was the abduction of leading movie star Choi Eun-hee and foremost director Shin Sang-ok in the 1970s. The two were held to produce films for the regime and were able to escape after seven years.

Also, a young American, David Sneddon was recently abducted from China while he was hiking close to the North Korean border, and was asked to teach Kim Jong Un English, and members of his cabinet. He went missing for 12 years, before he was sighted in North Korea.
