The Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari has sacked all service chiefs today. In a move that was not surprising as the president have criticised the service chiefs before getting into power.
The service chiefs relieved of their duty are the Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh; Chief of Army Staff, Kenneth Minimah; Chief of Naval Staff, Usman Jibrin and the Chief of Air Staff, Adesola Amosun. The president is yet to announce their replacement.
The new military chiefs will work with the neighbouring countries in the fight against the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, who in the past few weeks seems to have intensified their campaign of terrorism.
