Marie Le Pen

As France prepares for its election, Marine Le Pen's niece has guaranteed the repealing of gay marriages in France if she is elected into the highest office in the land.

Marion Maréchal-Le Pen, granddaughter of of Front National (FN) founder Jean-Marie Le Pen and the niece of the far-right party’s current leader Marine Le Pen to BFMTV in an interview. Maréchal-Le Pen is also the youngest MP, and believes same-sex marriage will open door for polygamy, In her interview,  Maréchal-Le Pen said;

It will not be the first priority, but … [repealing gay marriage] is a promise that we will stick to, and I will personally guarantee that this bill is demolished.

Also in the document we shared on Doy News few weeks ago about Marine Le Pen, Number 87 said she is looking to repeal the same-sex marriage in France. The proposal states that;

The Front National will replace the provisions made under the Taubira law [the bill enabling people of the same sex to wed, named after Justice Minister Christine Taubira] with civil unions.

Marine-Le Pen will face Emmanuel Macron – the centrist, pro-equality candidate on May 7, in the second and final vote, and she was able to make it to the second round with the help of gay men who had voted for her en masse.

Fingers are crossed in France, and experts fear that Marine Le Pen might pull another "Donald Trump" card in France.

Emmanuel Macron’s Campaign team have banned Russia news outlet, RT TV Channel and Russian state-funded Sputnik news agency from its campaign, after the Macron's team accused the media outlet of spreading propaganda and fake news to affect his campaign.

Russia has recently been accused of interfering in the US elections that helped Donald Trump became the president, by spreading fake news and propaganda against his opponent, Hillary Clinton. A move that was the reason for sending out Russian diplomats away from the US by the Obama administration.

Macron has supported the sanctions against Russia over the Ukraine crisis, but his opponent, Marie Le Pen is an admirer of Vladmir Putin, and supports Russia actions against Ukraine. She also visited Russia recently to meet with President Vladmir Putin about different issues, and how they can work together if she wins the French election.

According to Macron's spokesperson, both Russian media were banned as  he referred to both outlets as "systematic desire to issue fake news and false information,” “Spreading lies methodically and systematically – that’s a problem, If this creates problems with the Kremlin, it will be the subject of an open discussion in the event of the candidate (Macron) being elected."

Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded to the allegations by the Macron team, and said the move by the campaign team was "outrageous." Maria said that Moscow view the recent ban as "deliberate and bare-faced discrimination against Russian media by the presidential candidate of a state that has historically been vigilant when it comes to free speech."

The Macron team gave no specifics of some propaganda by the Russia outlet, but on Feb 4. Sputnik quoted a pro-Putin centre-right French legislator that Macron is a puppet for the US political and financial elite, and news about his private life would soon be made public.

The allegation by the pro-Putin centre-right French legislator forced Macron to deny any extra-marital gay relationship on February 7th.

The Russia news agencies have also been banned for the second round of voting.

So, this evening, I am no longer the president of the National Front. I am the candidate for the French presidency.

Russia is reported to be meddling with the French election, just like it did with the US election. US Senate Intelligence chief, Senator Richard Burr reveal the latest attack by the Putin government, who has been strongly tied with meddling with the election that made Donald Trump the US president.

Richard said;

What we might assess was a very covert effort in 2016 in the United States, is a very overt effort, as well as covert, in Germany and France. I remind you that we're within 30 days of the first French election, with four candidates. It will go down to two candidates with a runoff in May.

I think it's safe by everybody's judgment that the Russians are actively involved in the French elections.

So we feel part of our responsibility is to educate the rest of the world about what's going on, because it's now into character assassination of candidates.

The French far-right presidential hopeful, Marie Le Pen has quietly pledged to end same-sex marriage when elected. The policy by the presidential hopeful was quietly buried in a 144-page policy document released last week.

In number 87 of the document, Le Pen document says that she will create an "improved"form of civil union in the country to "replace" the equal marriage law that is put in place by the current socialist government since 2013.

The policy specifies that the new changes "would not be retroactive", but the replacement plan would not allow new same-sex couples, which means couple would only be allowed to enter into civil partnerships. This would allow gays to enter a contractual form of civil union (PACS) from 1999 until 2013.

The new Marie Le Pen policy would not only affect marriage equality, the plan also outlines the restriction on fertility services, which would end assistance for gay couples wanting to have children.

Marie Le Pen is confident she would win the election after the recent shift in voters' decisions in electing leader like Donald Trump, and also the UK Brexit vote.

Le Pen also won the first-round poll, but she will face competition centrist candidate Emmanuel Macron or Republicans right-winger Francois Fillon in the May run-off election.
