Charleston9: Meet The People Killed At The Church Massacre By Dylan Roof

An act of terrorism that happened in Charleston, South Carolina by a 21-year old, Dylan Roof took the life of 9 African-American. Roof is not happy with blacks in the community and had told the women he spared, Sylvia Johnson that, "I have to do this,You rape our women and you’re taking over our country. And you have to go.

                    

        

 Rev. Clementa Pinckney (41): He is the pastor of the church and also the state senator. He is known for his activism in the community and also supported the legislation allowing police to wear body cameras. He is survived by a wife and 2 children

   

Cynthia Hurd (54) : She was a librarian at the Charleston County public library(CCPL) for 31 years. To honour Cynthia, the library said they will close all their branches on Thursday.

  Her loss is incomprehensible, the CCPL said

   

Susie Jackson (81) : She is the oldest person in the massacre and also a long term member of Emanuel AME.

   

Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, 45 : She was a Reverend and  Goose Creek High’s girls track & field coach.

 

       

Tywanza Sanders, 26: He died trying to protect another family member, but unfortunately the family member died as well. He was a 2014 graduate of Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration.

       

Daniel Simon (74) : He was a retired pastor who attends Emanuel AME Church  every Wednesday and Sunday. He was also the victim of the massacre, but he died at a local hospital after the gunshot.

       

Depayne Middleton Doctor, 49: She worked as a former manager of the U.S Department of commerce, she was a minister and also sang at the church choir. She leaves behind 4 beautiful daughter.

Ethel Lee Lance (70) : She is a grandmother and also the heart of the family. She had worked in the church for 3 decades.

Myra Thompson, 59: She is the wife of another religious figure, Rev. Anthony Thompson, Vicar of the Vicar of the Holy Trinity Reformed Episcopal Church in Charleston.

Police arrested the culprit, Dylan Roof yesterday at North Carolina.
